Caramel Brownies

  • 1 bag Kraft caramels
  • 3/4 c. margarine or butter
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 small can evaporated milk

Directions

    Mix cake mix, nuts, margarine and 1/2 can of evaporated milk together until moist.

    Pat 1/2 of mixture into 13 x 9-inch pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and bake at 350° for 6 minutes. Melt caramels and remaining evaporated milk in saucepan.

    Pour over the chocolate mixture.

    Add remaining cake mixture by sprinkling over top.

    Bake 15 to 18 minutes at 350°.

    Refrigerate to cool and then cut into bars.
