  • 2 brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 gal. popped popcorn
  • 1-1/2 cup unpopped popcorn

    Combine sugars and margarine in a saucepan.

    Set timer for 5 minutes.

    Cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.

    Margarine will be almost melted.

    Remove from heat.

    Add 1 teaspoon baking soda.

    Beat well with a spoon.

    Put popped popcorn in a large turkey roaster.

    Pour caramel mixture over popcorn and stir to coat.

    Bake at 250F for 1 hour, stirring every 10 minutes.
