- 2/3 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/3 c. whole milk
- 3 c. sifted powdered confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Place butter and brown sugar in a heavy pot and heat 2 minutes. Add 1/3 cup milk and bring to a boil.

2Cool.

3Add confectioners sugar and vanilla.

4Beat well.

5If too stiff to spread, a small amount of milk may be added.

6Ices 2 layers.

7Double recipe for 3 to 4 layers.
