- 2 sticks butter
- 2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 c. light or dark corn syrup
- 6 qt. popped popcorn
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- unsalted peanuts (optional)
Directions

1Spread popcorn out on cookie sheet.

2Cool. Bring butter, sugar, salt and syrup to a boil, stirring constantly.

3Boil 5 minutes without stirring.

4Remove from heat; stir in soda and vanilla.

5Gradually pour over popcorn; mix well.

6Stir in peanuts if desired.

7Bake 1 hour at 250°.

8Stir every 15 minutes.
