Ingredients
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 c. warm milk
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- garlic salt or powder
Directions

1Soak yeast in 1 cup warm water for 5 minutes.

2Pour milk over sugar, salt and shortening.

3Stir until dissolved.

4Add yeast mixture and all of flour.

5Beat 2 minutes by hand.

6Cover with greased wax paper and let rise 35 to 45 minutes.

7Beat 1/2 minute and pour into greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.

8Sprinkle with garlic salt.

9Bake at 375° for 1 hour.

10Remove from casserole and cool. Great with pasta!
