  • 2 c. celery, cooked
  • 1/4 c. celery liquid
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Directions

    Cook diced celery until tender; drain.

    Make white sauce from milk and liquid drained from celery, butter, flour and salt.

    Melt butter in pan; add bread which has been shredded in small pieces. Stir until coated with butter.

    Mix celery with white sauce.

    Put in greased casserole and sprinkle buttered bread on top.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or until bubbly and brown.
