  • 2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2/3 c. quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 oz. pre-sliced, pasteurized process cheese food
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/3 c. catsup
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 slices onion

    Combine ground beef, egg, oats, milk, catsup, salt and pepper; mix well.

    Pat meat mixture on plastic wrap to an 8 x 12-inch rectangle.

    Arrange cheese slices over meat, overlapping as necessary and leaving edges of meat uncovered.

    Separate onion slices into rings and arrange over cheese slices.

    Using plastic wrap to lift meat, roll up, starting with 8-inch side.

    Seal edges well.

    Place in microwave-safe loaf dish or shallow baking dish. Cover with waxed paper.

    Microwave on Medium-high (70%) for 23 to 25 minutes or until center is no longer pink (150°), rotating dish once or twice.
