Cheesy Sausages

  • 2 sausages
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1 ounce cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon pickle
  • 1 slice bread
  • little butter

Directions

    Prick the sausages with a fork.

    Grill them under a moderate heat for about 15 minutes.

    Make a slit in each sausage, lengthways, and wedge a slice of cheese in each slit.

    Cut the rind from the bacon, and spread with the chutney.

    Wrap the bacon round the sausages and pin securely with cocktail sticks or toothpicks (not plastic ones!).

    Return to the hot grill, and cook for 5 minutes, until the bacon is crisp and the cheese is melting.

    Toast the bread, spread with the butter and serve with the sausages.
