  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 5 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
  • 1 medium onion, slice
  • 1 12 cups soy sauce
  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 14 cup sugar
  • 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts or 6 bone-in chicken breasts
  • 4 large potatoes, washed and sliced into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch or 4 tablespoons flour
  • black pepper
  • 12 teaspoon whole black peppercorn
  • 4 bay leaves

Directions

    drizzle oil onto pan and turn heat to medium.

    saute garlic and onions until onions become transparent.

    cook chicken in oil until both sides are slightly browned.

    turn heat down, add soy/vinegar mixture, cover and simmer.

    uncover and mix after 6-8 minutes.

    add potatoes, black pepper, stir.

    turn heat off when potatoes have softened.

    dissolve/mix in corn starch, sugar and black pepper.

    add bay leaves.
