Ingredients
- 1 (3 1/2 to 5 lb.) chicken, cooked with onion, celery and salt, slice without skin
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. evaporated milk
- liquid from 2 (3 oz.) cans mushrooms (1/2 lb. fresh)
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 c. grated cheese (I use more)
- 2 to 3 c. cooked rice
Directions

1Blend flour into butter.

2Add evaporated milk and liquid from mushrooms.

3Add chicken broth to make 4 cups of liquid.

4Add turmeric, salt and oregano to liquid.

5Cook until sauce is thickened.

6Add grated cheese.

7In flat baking dish, put 2 to 3 cups of cooked rice.

8Layer chicken and mushrooms over rice.

9Pour cream sauce on top and top with cheese.

10Bake 30 minutes at 350°.
