  • 1 (27 oz.) can S&W 50% less salt kidney beans
  • 1 (20 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 lb. lean hamburger (optional)
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 c. fresh or frozen green beans
  • 2 Tbsp. minced dried onion
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cumin (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp. chili powder (or to taste)

Directions

    Steam carrots (peeled and sliced) and green beans over a small amount of water until tender; reserve water.

    In a large skillet, brown hamburger; drain fat.

    Add remaining ingredients and reserved water; simmer, uncovered, about 20 minutes until flavors have blended and soup has thickened.
