- 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. margarine, divided
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 8 oz. cooked ground beef, crumbled
- 1 can green chilies, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. tomato paste
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- salt
- dash of ground pepper
- 3/4 c. four
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1In 8 ounce nonstick skillet, heat 1 teaspoon margarine over medium heat until bubbly and hot.

2Add onion and garlic; saute about 3 minutes.

3Add beef, chilies, tomato paste, chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt and ground pepper.

4Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes.

5Transfer mixture to a 9-inch pie plate and sprinkle with cheese.
