Ingredients

  • 250 g split peas
  • 3 red chilies
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons spring onions, finely chopped
  • 12 teaspoon cumin seed
  • salt, to taste
  • oil, for frying

Directions

    Rinse split peas and soak in cold water overnight.

    Drain thoroughly, and place in a blender.

    Blend to a still lumpy consistency.
  4. 4
    Add to a bowl with all other ingredients and mix well.

    Add a little water if needed.

    Heat oil in pan.

    Shape mixture to small balls, and fry until golden brown.

    Drain on absorbant paper and serve with bread, or alone.
