Choc Caramel Nut Bars

- 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
- 1 small can evaporated milk
- 1 German chocolate cake mix with pudding
- 1/2 c. margarine, melted
- 1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
Directions

1Melt caramels and 1/3 cup of the evaporated milk, stirring, over low heat until smooth.

2Combine remaining milk, cake mix and margarine.

3Mix well.

4Press 1/2 of the cake mixture in the bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

5Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.

6Sprinkle 1 cup walnuts and the chocolate chips over crust.

7Top with caramel mixture, spreading to edges of pan.

8Top with teaspoonfuls of the remaining cake mixture.

9Press gently.

10Sprinkle remaining nuts. Press gently.

11Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

12Cool and cut into bars or refrigerate.
