Chocolate Nut Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. quick oats
  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 3 eggs (2 usually will do)
  • 3/4 c. nuts
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips
  • confectioners sugar

Directions

    Fix oatmeal mixture; let stand 10 minutes.

    Stir in butter and sugar; add egg and mix well.

    Add flour mixture.

    Fold in half of chips and spread in greased and floured pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inch. Sprinkle remaining chocolate and nuts on top.

    Bake in preheated oven at 350° about 45 minutes.

    Cool in pan.

    Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.

    Serve with Cool Whip (optional).
