- 1 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. self-rising flour, sifted
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 to 5 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Cream butter and sugar.

3Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa.

4Add dry ingredients alternately with the milk.

5Add vanilla.

6Mix well.

7Pour into a 10-inch greased tube pan.

8Cover pan with foil and place a pan of water on bottom rack under cake pan.

9Bake at 325° for 2 hours.
