- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 qt. water
- 2 medium onions, grated
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. red pepper
- 1 tsp. ground cumin seed
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder (you may use more if you like)
- 1/2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 large bay leaf
- 5 whole cloves
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Add ground beef to water in a 4-quart pot.

2Stir until beef separates to a fine texture.

3Boil slowly for 1/2 hour.

4Add all other ingredients.

5Stir to blend, bringing to a boil.

6Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for about 3 hours.
