- 2 c. garden lime
- 2 gal. cucumbers
- 8 1/2 qt. water
- 1 c. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. alum
- 1 small bottle red food coloring
- 3 c. vinegar
- 2 c. water
- 8 broken cinnamon sticks
- 12 c. sugar
- 6 oz. cinnamon candies
Directions

1Soak lime, cucumbers and 8 1/2 quarts water 24 hours, then drain and rinse good.

2Simmer 2 hours in vinegar, alum and food coloring with enough water to cover cucumbers.

3Drain.

4Bring to a boil and pour over cucumbers the vinegar, 2 cups water, cinnamon sticks, sugar and cinnamon candies.

5Let set 24 hours.

6Reheat liquid 3 times, 24 hours apart; on 3rd time, put cucumbers in jars and pour boiling liquid over and seal.
