Clam Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 c. Ritz crackers
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 can minced clams plus juice
  • 1/8 to 1/4 lb. butter
  • juice of 1 lemon or 4 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 1/3 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp. parsley flakes
  • 2 tsp. dill weed or Beau Monde (my preference)
  • 2 tsp. minced onion or 1 tsp. dried onion
  • 1/2 tsp. celery salt
  • small loaf of pumpernickel bread (round)

Directions

    Mix dip ingredients and refrigerate at least 4 hours.

    Hollow out the bread to contain the dip.

    Cut bread into bite-sized pieces and place on plate around bread.
  4. 4
    Just before serving, pour dip into bread cavity.

    Dunk and enjoy.
