Ingredients
- 4 c. unsifted flour, divided
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. ground almonds
- 1/2 c. chopped raisins
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 2 (1 lb.) coffee cans
Directions

1Mix 2 cups flour with yeast.

2Stir water, milk, butter, sugar and salt over low heat until butter melts.

3Cool for about 5 minutes.

4Add flour and yeast.

5Add remaining flour, nuts, fruit and eggs.

6Dough will be stiff.

7Knead on floured board until the dough is smooth and elastic and the raisins are well distributed. Coat each coffee can with oil.

8Divide the dough into two equal pieces and place into the cans.

9Cover the cans with plastic tops. Let rise in warm place (85°) until the dough is 1 inch from the top of the cans.

10Remove tops.

11Bake at 375° for 35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and/or sounds hollow when tapped.
