- 2 1/2 c. corn meal
- 3 beaten eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. sugar (optional)
- 7 Tbsp. shortening or oil
- 5 c. hot water
Directions

1Mix all in saucepan.

2Cook slowly until mixture is thick. Keep stirring until mixture has no lumps and it is evenly thickened.

3Pour into greased baking pan and dot with butter on top.

4Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until brown.

5Let cool before cutting.
