- 1 c. self-rising corn meal
- 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 3 Tbsp. bacon grease
- 3/4 to 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Mix flour and meal thoroughly. Add buttermilk until the mixture is thin enough to pour, like pancake batter.

2Put 1 tablespoon of the bacon grease in an iron skillet.

3Heat until hot.

4Pour in 1/4 cup batter. Brown on both sides.

5You can fry about 4 or 5 at the same time in a 10-inch skillet. Add a tablespoon of bacon grease as needed.
