Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 c. cream
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 (12 oz.) cans whole kernel corn, drained
  • 2 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled (optional)

Directions

    Heat butter and sugar in a medium size saucepan until butter melts.

    Stir in flour and blend well. Remove from heat. Gradually stir in cream. Add eggs and baking powder; mix well. Fold in onion, bell pepper, black pepper and corn.

    Pour into a buttered 2-quart casserole. Bake 40 minutes at 350° or until a knife inserted into center comes out clean.
