- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. orange juice
- 1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 well beaten egg
- 1 1/2 c. cranberries, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Mix flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and salt together. Add remaining ingredients, except cranberries and nuts.

2Mix well until blended.

3Stir in cranberries and nuts.

4Pour into greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.

5Bake at 350° for 55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

6Cool on rack 5 minutes; remove from pan.
