  • 3/4 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg

    Crumb flour, sugar and Crisco together.

    Save out 1 cup of crumb mixture for topping.

    Put soda into buttermilk, mix into crumb mixture.

    Add egg, salt and vanilla.

    Beat vigorously.

    Pour into large oblong baking dish.

    Sprinkle 1 cup crumb mixture on top.

    Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
