- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. rice (uncooked)
- 2 tsp. allspice, ground
- 1/2 tsp. curry powder
- 1/4 tsp. turmeric
- 3 c. hot water
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
Directions

1In 3-quart casserole dish, combine onion and butter.

2Cover with heavy-duty plastic wrap; microwave on High for 3 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients; cover and microwave on High for 5 minutes.

3Stir well.

4Cover and microwave for another 20 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.

5Let stand 4 to 5 minutes.
