  • 1 cup split peas
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 pimento
  • 4 leaves of chadon beni
  • 1/2 tsp geera
  • 1/2 tsp saffron
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 3 cup water
  • 1 oil for chongkaying
  • 1 salt to taste

    soak split peas over night.

    chop onion, pimento and chadon beni
  3. 3
    pour peas, onion, pimento, 2 cloves of garlic, chadon beni and saffron powder in a pressure cooker with water for 15 mins

    when done add salt

    add geera

    swizzle well, perferably with dahl gutney to a pureed consistancy

    chongkay dahl by frying the other two cloves of garlic in kalchul and when brown add to dhal.
