  • 1 pkg. Duncan Hines cherry supreme deluxe cake mix
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 (1 lb.) can red sour pitted cherries and juice
  • 1/4 tsp. red food coloring
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) melted butter or margarine
  • sweetened whipped cream
  • ice cream or coffee cream

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    In a bowl combine sugar and cornstarch. Stir in cherries, juice and food coloring.

    Pour into a 9-inch square pan.

    Combine dry cake mix and melted butter or margarine. (Mixture will be crumbly.) Sprinkle over cherries.

    Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes, until golden brown.
