Ingredients
- 2 c. chopped, pitted dates,
- 2/3 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. honey
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. very hot water
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
Directions

1In a large bowl, combine dates, sugar, honey and butter.

2Add very hot water; let stand for 15 minutes.

3Preheat oven to 325°. Stir egg and vanilla into date mixture.

4In a separate bowl, combine remaining ingredients.

5Stir the flour mixture into the date mixture.

6Pour batter into a greased loaf pan and bake for 1 hour or until a wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean.

7Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove the bread and place it on a wire rack.
