  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped fine

Directions

    Mix first 3 ingredients and cool.
  2. 2
    Mix remaining ingredients. Mix both mixtures together and bake at 325° about 30 minutes. Leave in oblong pan.
