  • 1 lb. dates, chopped
  • 1 lb. pecans, chopped
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 small jar maraschino cherries
  • 1 (No. 1) can crushed pineapple
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 eggs, beaten

Directions

    Preheat oven to 300° to 325°.

    Have loaf pan ready.

    Mix dates and pecans.

    Sift dry ingredients and add to dates and pecans.

    Mix well (it's easier to use your hands).

    Add cherries, pineapple, vanilla and beaten eggs.

    Bake in loaf pan in slow oven (300° to 325°) for 1 1/2 hours.
