  • dill
  • few pieces of garlic
  • 1 pt. water
  • 1 pt. cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. alum

    Pack fresh-picked cucumbers in glass jars with a layer of dill and a few pieces of garlic.

    Boil water, cider vinegar, salt and alum.

    Pour boiling water over cucumbers and seal.
