- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/3 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 5 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 stick butter
- pinch of salt
Directions

1Beat egg. Add sugar. Melt butter and cocoa together. Add milk and flour alternately. Bake at 325° for 20 minutes in two 8 x 8-inch pans. Line pans with wax paper. Allow paper to come up sides of pan. When cool, frost with the following Mocha Icing.
