- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. cream
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Mix nutmeg, 1 cup flour, ginger, soda, baking powder and salt; gradually add the other 3 1/2 cups flour.

2Mix with wet ingredients.

3Roll out on floured board (place in refrigerator overnight if you want to).

4Roll dough to about 3/8-inch to 1/2-inch thick.

5Cook slowly in 2 or 3 pounds of lard.
