Dutch Apple Bread

  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. butter or shortening

Directions

    Sift flour. Add baking powder, salt and sugar. Sift again. Cut softened butter into dry ingredients as for pastry. Add beaten eggs and milk. Beat. Spread in 8 x 12 pan (greased). Press apple slices over top and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.
