  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 c. cornmeal
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 medium size onions, chopped
  • 3 to 4 cans Swanson chicken broth

Directions

    Mix first 6 ingredients and pour in well greased cast-iron skillet.

    Bake at 450° until toothpick comes out clean in center. Cool bread; crumble bread in a large bowl.

    Add onions and chicken broth until mushy.

    Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan and spread dressing in pan.

    Bake at 325° for 35 minutes or until slightly browned, but not dried out.
