- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. milk, scalded
- 1 (9-inch) pastry shell (unbaked)

1Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla together.

2Add scalded milk. Scald means to heat milk just to the boiling point, but do not allow to boil.

3The pan used for scalding is easier to clean if rinsed out with hot water before adding milk.
