Ingredients

  • 2 pie crusts (make or buy)
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten, separate whites and yolks
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. milk, scalded, heat and skim off
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch

Directions

    Prepare pie crust in pie pan.

    Brush with slightly beaten egg whites.

    Combine eggs, sugar, salt and cornstarch.

    Add milk and vanilla; mix well.

    Pour into 2 pie crusts (placed on cookie sheets for support).

    Sprinkle nutmeg on top.

    Bake in oven on 400° for 30 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.

    Cool; serve.
