- 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 slightly beaten egg yolk
- 1 Tbsp. water
Directions

1In large mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of flour and yeast; set aside.

2In medium saucepan, heat: stir the milk, sugar, margarine or butter and salt just until warm (120° to 130°) and margarine almost melts.

3Add to flour mixture, then add 3 egg yolks.

4Beat with electric mixer on low to medium speed for 30 seconds, scraping the sides of the bowl.

5Beat on high speed for 3 minutes.

6Stir in as much of remaining flour as you can.

7On lightly floured surface, knead in enough of remaining flour to make moderately stiff dough.

8Shape into a ball.

9Place in a greased bowl; turn once.

10Cover, let rise until double, about 1 hour.

11Punch down dough.

12Turn onto lightly floured surface. Divide in half.

13Then divide each half into 12 pieces.

14Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
