  • 1/4 lb. bacon
  • 3 medium onions, diced
  • 5 medium potatoes, diced
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3 c. boiling water
  • 1 1/2 lb. fresh or thawed frozen haddock, cod or pollack fillets, cut into smaller pieces
  • 1 qt. milk, scalded
  • 1 c. evaporated milk (undiluted)
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine

    Cook in large kettle until crispy brown.

    Remove bits of bacon and reserve.
