- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 1/4 c. warm water
- 3 to 4 c. self-rising flour
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water. Alternate flour and yeast water to creamed mixture until dough is stiff.

3Let rise about 2 hours or until double.

4Transfer dough to floured board.

5Knead for 3 minutes.

6Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thick.

7Cut with biscuit cutter; put small amount of margarine on roll and fold over.

8Let rise 1 hour.

9Bake for 20 minutes at 350°.
