- 5 to 6 c. all-purpose or bread flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable shortening, at room temperature
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 1/4 c. hot tap water (120~ to 130~)
Directions

1Combine 2 cups flour, undissolved yeast, sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl.

2Stir to blend.

3Add shortening.

4Pour in tap water.

5Beat with electric mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes. Add 1 cup flour and increase speed to high for 1 minute.

6Stir in balance of flour, a half cup at a time.

7The dough will leave the sides of the bowl.

8If the dough is moist and sticky, add a few sprinkles of flour.
