Ingredients

  • 3 c. chopped pears or 4 c. chopped apples
  • 3/4 c. salad oil
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Directions

    Mix oil and sugar; blend in vanilla and eggs.

    Sift all dry ingredients and add to mixture.

    Add pears and nuts (optional). Mix well.

    Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Cook 45 minutes in 350° oven.

    Cool and ice with Cream Cheese Icing.

    Cut into 24 squares.
