Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour (1 c. to roll dough in)
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. Crisco, melted
  • 3 tsp. baking powder (level spoons)
  • 3 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. evaporated milk

Directions

    Put eggs, shortening and milk in bowl.

    Add the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

    Beat with a spoon until mixed.
  4. 4
    Pour out on board and work with hands until dough is smooth.
  5. 5
    Roll out and cut.

    Fill with fresh fruit filling or canned fruit filling, fold over, seal and fry in hot oil until golden.

    I make my pies the size of a saucer and this will make about 20 pies.
