- 1 lb. okra
- 1/4 c. cornmeal
- 1 c. Wesson oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. flour
- pepper
Directions

1Rinse the okra.

2Remove the caps.

3Cut into 1/4-inch pieces. Mix cornmeal, flour and salt.

4Toss the okra with mixture.

5Spread out for a few minutes to dry.

6Toss again.

7Fill skillet halfway with oil.

8Heat to sizzling.

9Add okra.

10Leave enough room to turn.

11Fry until lightly browned, turning only to prevent burning. Add salt and pepper while still hot.
