Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 qt. canned or fresh fruit (peaches or blueberries best)
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Melt butter or margarine and pour into 9 x 12 x 2-inch baking pan.

    Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and milk.

    Pour into pan. Drain fruit if canned and combine with water and sugar.

    Carefully pour into pan.

    Bake in 375° oven for approximately 1 hour.

    When done, the batter will have risen to the top and should be a beautiful brown.

    Serves 6 to 8.
