Fruit Cocktail Cake

  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 large can fruit cocktail (reserve juice)
  • 1 tsp. each: salt, cinnamon and nutmeg
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 c. raisins

Directions

    Cream the sugar and margarine; add eggs.

    Add dry ingredients and mix well.

    Add raisins, nuts and fruit cocktail; mix by hand. Add reserved juice if needed.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour in a 9 x 12-inch pan or tube pan.

    When cake cools, add topping.
