Ingredients
- 1 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1 2/3 c. (tall can) milk
- 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
Directions

1Stir together sugar, flour and cocoa; gradually stir in milk. Stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and thickens. Reduce heat; cook and stir 4 minutes.

2Add small amount of egg yolks, return all to pan of hot mixture and cook, stirring 1 to 3 additional minutes, until mixture is very thick.

3Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla.

4Cool 5 minutes.

5Turn into pie shell and cover with nuts.

6Cover with meringue, sealing well around edges.

7Bake in preheated oven at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
