  • 2 Tbsp. plus 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. plus 1 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted

    In small mixer bowl, combine 2 tablespoons butter, cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, cornstarch, 1 egg, 3 tablespoons milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.

    Beat at high speed until smooth and creamy. Combine remaining ingredients in a large mixer bowl.

    Blend well. Spread 1/2 batter into a sprayed 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Spoon cream cheese mixture over batter.

    Carefully spread other 1/2 of batter over the cream cheese.

    Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes but make first check at 40 minutes.
