Ingredients
- 8 c. shredded cabbage
- 2 carrots, shredded
- 1 green pepper, cut in thin strips
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. cold water
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 1/4 c. cold water
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. celery seed
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 2/3 c. salad oil
Directions

1Mix the shredded cabbage, carrots, green pepper and onion. Sprinkle with the 1/2 cup cold water and chill.

2Soften the gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water and set aside.

3Mix the sugar, vinegar, celery seed, salt and pepper in a saucepan.

4Bring to boil.

5Stir in softened gelatin.

6Cool until slightly thickened. Beat well.

7Gradually beat in the 2/3 cup of salad oil.

8Pour dressing over top of cabbage mixture and stir lightly until all is coated.

9Can serve immediately or store in refrigerator.

10Will keep forever.
